What clutch

Post by ominousone » Sat Apr 26, 2014 11:28 am

I need a clutch for my TT. I'd rather not spend a ton of money but do want a clutch that will easily handle 400 hp. I see 3sx has Competition Clutch brand for under $400.00. Their Spec clutch seems to be higher. I think I prefer a sprung clutch plate. I'm open to ideas and recommendations.

Thanks,
Bill

John ordered this one for the '95. He checked out what everyone on 3si had to say, and it was all good, with the exception of the throwout bearing. They said to get a stock one.

I've been looking at a new clutch as well. I too have heard good things about the XTD. Does John have the stage 4? How is it for daily driving? How many miles has he had it?

I had a southbend OFE in my 94 and I really liked it. Nice and smooth and I never had any issues with it not holding

Its not in the car yet. John just got an OEM throw out bearing. Hopefully it'll get put in soon. Flip and John are gonna do it at Flip's place, so it all depends on when Flip has the time.

Looking to put a clutch in sometime in the next few weeks. Any Feedback on the XTD?

So far he's very happy with it. The only real issue is because its spring-less, it wants to grab.....all. the. time. So driving slow, like in parking lots, is kinda jerky. He'd definitely buy one again.

Ok good to know. I'll be going with the Stage 3 so probably be a little less grabby. Thanks!

I matched a XTD disc to a southbend pressure plate a few years ago, worked out just fine.
