WTB tranny repair

Post by StevenGalewski » Sat Apr 16, 2016 1:10 am

I have the champagne colored 92 RT/TT that was at the last couple UMGs. I am in urgent need of repairing/replacing the tranny. I need advice on where to take it for repairs. Has anybody had a shop repair or replace their tranny and had a good experience? Does anybody have a good tranny for sale? I would appreciate any advice. It would be great if I could still find someplace that can do it before this UMG. Are any club members up to replacing a tranny and clutch? Give me a call at 952-200-5666

Do you know if your VCU is still good. Jack Hammer may be interested. You live off Embers in Farmington don't you? I am up on 185th and drive by your black ES everyday.

Andy Pickle still does a lot of side wrenching on 3/Ses. Either message "apickle" on the message board or find him on Facebook.

All the big 3/S shops can still get you a transmission ship here in time, if that is what you need. (Ninja Performance, 3SX, Ground Zero Performance)

Or if you need it rebuilt, Zumbrota Bearing and Gear is a local place people have had good luck with.

later,
Curt

If you want to keep it local, I'd suggest Zumbrota Bearing & Gear for anything internal. I'd be able to R&R it for sure, but my schedule for the next month is pretty full. You can call or text me at 612-201-2428 or PM me here, we could set up a time to pull it and get it down to Zumbrota in plenty of time to make the UMG.

Andy I tried calling but your voice mailbox won't accept messages. Give me a call ASAP. I'd like to talk to you to get started on this. I'd really like to make it to UMG

What the heck, Verizon? Apparently they nuked my voicemail when I upgraded phones last month. I'll give you a ring back around 7 tonight, if that's ok.

I havent gotten any response regarding the vcu and xfer spool. Feel free to use everything at your disposal to find one, or hope that yours is a 25 spline AND good

Jack, I'll be pulling the trans tomorrow and I'll let you know what spline count I find. I'd do it today, but we've got family stuff going on all day today. Could check with SCE, they usually have a good supply of transmission parts.

Jack, good news and bad. It is a 25 spline, but the splines are pretty saw-toothed. I've dealt with most all of the rusty fasteners at this point, so I should have the transmission out by tomorrow evening. Can we arrange to meet up Saturday morning or later evening? I can drop it off wherever you need me to, I just have to work from 11-7:30 in Shakopee.
