What's up with the price of desktop memory

Post by Oskar » Thu Sep 28, 2006 1:31 pm

I am looking at buying a set of 2GB DDR2 Patriot memory sticks. The other day they were selling for $180. I went to place an order today and was shocked to find out they are now $270. Damn! I'm going to wait and hope the price swings back down.

the price of all electronics has gone up... but mainly memory. i noticed that too. I wanted some 2x 1GB DDR2 for about $150 to $170... the cheapest now is $209 I think. Hell even DDR 1GB I got for $75 almost a year ago is over $100 right now.

processors are slightly up too. just wiat and they'll come down 8)

From what I know- memory chips in IT is just like oil in the rest of industry- fluctuates a lot. Supply and demand at work.

It is no wonder, really. Happens all the time.
I dream of owning a house only because it comes with a garage.
