I am back

Post by niterydr » Thu Nov 05, 2009 7:40 am

Hello everyone!

Bought a house in Savage now, I have an Audi A6 2.7T (can't get away from the big, awd, leather, twin turbo cars I guess) and am contemplating buying another 3s or a vette in the next year or two.

How is everyone?

Welcome back, and welcome to the great city of Savage. Been here 23 years myself.

Hey Josh,

You need another 3/S. Think of how easy they are for you to work on. ;)

later,

Hey, welcome back! If your A6 was the 4.2 V8 I'd trade you for the vr4 I'm just finishing restoring because I really want to step up from my a4 to a c5 a6 4.2.

Just did a 130k service on my 2.7T, I'll be keeping it for awhile. Replaced the timing belt, water pump, all cam seals, crank seal, cam tensioner seals, valve cover gaskets, deleted the secondary air injection system, installed an Electric cooling fan and deleted the fan clutch assembly, installed 710n diverter valves, changed the oil over to the 0w30 german castrol synthetic, and replaced some torn vac lines/upgraded to silicone/cleaned up engine bay/painted stuff.

Yes. With a nearly 3 car garage at my house now, I do work as well :).

Nope mostly stock program. I couldn't justify paying someone to have a tune for me. I'm working with a group of other guys to work on cracking the ecu. The main issue is it isn't a typical computer where there are values and such, it is a torque based system so the computer will reference multiple maps to determine the optimum setting.

If I really wanted to go nuts with this car/platform, I would have gotten a S4 and gone standalone to start. This is my daily driver that gets me to and from work, and lets me blow off some steam from time to time.
