Cars & Coffee and Furious 7 - April 4,2015

Post by curt_gendron » Mon Mar 23, 2015 3:45 pm

On Saturday, April 4th, we'll be doing both Cars and Coffee and going as a group to Furious 7. There is a chance the weather will be crappy for Cars and Coffee. If we don't go to C & C, we will still go to Furious 7 and get lunch. We will plan on going to the movie at the Eden Prairie theater: https://www.google.com/maps/place/AMC+E ... a3ae04d933" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Lets meet at the Holiday Gas station at 6:45am and leave for the Automotorplex at 7am sharp. Map to Holiday: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Holid ... afae2dddef" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Then around 10:45am we will leave the Automotorplex and either head to the movie theater or get a bite to eat. Once the movie times are released we will fine tune that. If you just want to eat and/or go to the movie and skip C & C, let me know and then just watch here for the updates.

Please chime in if you are coming!

later,
Curt

Well Steve you got to remember that sometimes short term memory loss comes with age. :wink:

And maybe, just maybe, Steve will spell my name right one of these days.

Looks like we have Freddy, Andy, Collin, Steve, gonen2 and Mike going so far.

The movie times are out, so here is what I think we should do. Leave C&C at 10:30am and head over to the Eden Prairie movie theater and get something to eat in the food court at the mall. The food court and the movie theater are right next to each other. Then go to the 11:40am showing of Furious 7.

They do have a 12:40pm showing in the IMAX screen. But I think that costs $12, (instead of $6). I don't need to see it on the IMAX screen. If others wanted to, we could go eat at a nicer sit down restaurant at the mall and wait until the 12:40pm showing.

So chime with your thoughts.

I'm in for the IMAX. Might as well go big or go home.

Cheap is better than Imax. Unless Steve really needs to see all the welds popping off all the intake manifolds.

Andy, I can cover the extra $6 for you if we decide to go to the IMAX screen :)

Ha!!!!! Andy caught on with the Steve blue!!!!

Anyway, standard definition is ok with me. I don't have a problem with the IMAX either, but I say go to that if we happen to be in a time crunch for some reason.

The videophile in me would rather see it in a regular theater because an IMAX forces you actually move your eyes or head to see the whole screen. That actually degrades the experience because you can't get the whole screen in at a time. But people love the IMAX because of the big picture boner effect. If the majority wants to see it in IMAX, I don't care that much. But so far it is just Steve.
